The Acoustic Barrier material has been designed to ensure the highest performance in reduction of air borne and impact noise and vibration between floors of existing (refurbishment) and new build constructions.

Tiflex Acoustic Barrier material has been tested by the Building Research Establishment in accordance with BS EN ISO 140-3:1995 and BS EN ISO 140-6:1998. It fully complies with the requirements and specifications set out in Building Regulations (Document E) (BRE Test Reference L303-002D).

Performance

Tiflex have carried out considerable research and development to develop the Acoustic Barrier material. Independent laboratory and onsite tests show that this material can significantly reduce the transmission of impact and airborne noise and vibration. It will also provide a degree of thermal insulation.

Physical Properties

In critical applications where the reduction of both airborne and impact noise and vibration is required Tiflex Acoustic Barrier 15 should be employed. Tiflex Acoustic Barrier 15 is manufactured from a unique, dense material and a dense open cell sponge which absorb noise and vibration.

This material is the premium grade, manufactured from a unique blend of rubber and Fire Rated Class 0 open cell foam. This product will provide designers with the assurance of a material which meets high fire retardant specification, whilst also providing superb impact and airborne noise and vibration reduction. At only 15mm thick the excellent performance is coupled with a minimal height impact on the structure.
