INSTRUCTIONS FOR BONDING GEOFLEX SHEETING
Rubber To Rubber Application.
- Remove all contaminants from the bonding surface by brushing and wiping with solvent or
rubber cleanser, followed by scraping with a steel straight edge and allow to dry.
- Apply, by brush, Geoflex Etch solution to the rubber surfaces, allow the solvent to
evaporate completely and the surface to warm up.
- Mix Geoflex Enhancer with Geoflex Adhesive as recommended on data sheet instructions.
- Apply one coat of mixed adhesive to each surface and allow the solvent to evaporate.
- Apply a further coat of mixed adhesive to each surface and allow to become tacky to touch
by the back hand.
- Bring the two tacky surfaces together and apply pressure to ensure intimate contact.
Rubber To Metal Application
- Shot-blast or use a wire-brush or sander to remove all rust and scales from the metal
surface to be lined.
- Clean the prepared metals surfaces and rubber surfaces with solvent and allow to
dry completely.
- Apply by brush, Geoflex Etch solution to the rubber surfaces, allow the solvent to
evaporate and the surface to warm.
- Mix Geoflex Enhancer with Geoflex Adhesive as recommended on the data sheet instructions.
- Apply a coat of Geoflex Metal Primer onto the metal surface and allow it to dry.
- Apply a coat of the mixed adhesive onto the roughened surface and allow it to dry.
- Apply a further coat of mixed adhesive to each surface and allow to become tacky to touch
by the back of the hand.
- Bring these tacky surfaces together and apply pressure to ensure intimate contact.
Failure to clean the surface is often the cause of premature bond failure.
