PLANNING
Identify all areas to be covered. Establish a centre line and make all measurements from it. For the sake of
appearance, all gaps between adjacent sheets, fittings, gunwales, etc. should be kept parallel and constant throughout the boat. Avoid butting up sheets.
SURFACE PREPARATION
This is most important. Ensure that surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease (this can be achieved by
cleaning down with a solvent). High gloss gel-coat should be keyed lightly with fine abrasive paper. Paint should be removed.
CUTTING
Treadmaster is easily cut out with a Stanley knife or large scissors. Take measurements from the deck and mark our and
cut from there or, make pattern from thick brown paper or card. Ensure that diamonds run in the correct direction. Corner radii can be finished with fine abrasive paper.
FITTING
Stick the Treadmaster down from one end ensuring that no air is trapped between the sheet and the deck. If using marine
epoxy adhesive on cambered deck, Treadmaster can be taped down to prevent creeping until cured. When using Treadmaster contact adhesive, apply firm pressure all over after fitting - a small roller is ideal.
