TREADMASTER INDUSTRIAL FLOOR COVERINGS

Treadmaster Flooring material manufactured by Tiflex Ltd, has been used in trams in the USA.

TM7 is currently being fitted to 17 trams being produced in Mexico by Bombardier to be operated on the Hiawatha Light Rail Project, Minneapolis, USA.  The new 18km route will connect down town Minneapolis to the International Airport and the Mall of America in Bloomington.

The design of the vehicles was developed by the Bombardier Transportation LRV Centre of Expertise for America, located in Sahagun, Mexico. It incorporates the best practises / technology achieved by Bombardier

A new colour was designed specifically to meet the Metropolitan Councils colour scheme. The material meets the UK Class 1 BS476 pt7 fire rating in addition to meeting US standards.  Tm7 also complies with State regulations on slip resistance, recycling and disposal.

To prove the fire safety of the new trams, one unit was fully assembled and set alight in a test to destruction. The Treadmaster material performed exceptionally well in the test.
